I have a requirement to find if a string has symbols like ┼, ▓, ┐, ╔, ╠, ═, ╩, � etc. Is there a regex to find the symbols like these?
Basically, a string can have English letters, Latin letters, numbers, punctuation marks but not some unknown character.
I am currently using this [^\u0020-\u007E\u00A0-\u00FF]+ But it also matches this- QLF feat. ARGJOW & M€RAH & NEMO. This text is fine as € is Euro symbol.
Using this Unicode character converter (no affiliation), you can easily check the Unicode category that specific symbols belong to.
The ┼, ▓, ┐, ╔, ╠, ═, ╩, � characters all belong to Symbol, Other Unicode category.
You can match them with the \p{So} regex pattern.
Currently, it matches 6639 Unicode code points, and you can use the following regex to match them if \p{So} is not supported:
