I'm doing some string matching in Java. I need to match the symbol representing the group separator in the Polish language.

So what is the code for that symbol in Polish? I'm doing this for a test suit testing if the Locale is working as expected, so I need to hard code the symbol
You don't need to parse it. If you set the locale appropriately then Java will do the parsing for you. Just use the NumberFormat.parse(String): http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/text/NumberFormat.html#parse%28java.lang.String%29
