How to fix flutter build app bundle error?

The following error occurs when building the flutter app bundle. What could be the cause?

I added content related to app signing and changed buildTypes to release. I get this error when trying to build:

A failure occurred while executing com.android.build.gradle.internal.tasks.FinalizeBundleTask$BundleToolRunnable

Below is the source file. I was told to move the key.properties file to the app directory, so I tried that, but it didn't help.

I also tried regenerating the key just in case, but this also didn't help.

key.properties

storePassword=password
keyPassword=password
keyAlias=upload
storFile=C:/Users/user/upload.jks

build.gradle

def localProperties = new Properties()
def localPropertiesFile = rootProject.file('local.properties')
if (localPropertiesFile.exists()) {
    localPropertiesFile.withReader('UTF-8') { reader ->
        localProperties.load(reader)
    }
}

def flutterRoot = localProperties.getProperty('flutter.sdk')
if (flutterRoot == null) {
    throw new GradleException("Flutter SDK not found. Define location with flutter.sdk in the local.properties file.")
}

def flutterVersionCode = localProperties.getProperty('flutter.versionCode')
if (flutterVersionCode == null) {
    flutterVersionCode = '1'
}

def flutterVersionName = localProperties.getProperty('flutter.versionName')
if (flutterVersionName == null) {
    flutterVersionName = '1.0'
}

apply plugin: 'com.android.application'
apply plugin: 'kotlin-android'
apply from: "$flutterRoot/packages/flutter_tools/gradle/flutter.gradle"

def keystoreProperties = new Properties()
def keystorePropertiesFile = rootProject.file('key.properties')
if (keystorePropertiesFile.exists()) {
    keystoreProperties.load(new FileInputStream(keystorePropertiesFile))
}

Solution

  • Try adding jks file to android folder. Make sure you dont push it to source control.

    storeFile=../upload.jks

    Replace the last line in key.properties with above.

    Make sure your key.properties is in android folder only. Not on app level.
