Automatically change the powerbi report publish changing data source

I have .Pbix file with me for a powerBI report and i need to use that as atemplate for many workspaces. I tryied to do it with power automate but the thing is it is published with the data source saved in the .pbix file.I need to update thea data source only in the template and use it in many workspaces with different datasets but in same structure.

I was expected to update only the dataset and it is creating new report

as of now I'm updating every workspace manually when i did a change to report template i need to automate this process.

Solution

  • Look at the Power BI REST APIs. You can update data sources of datasets (and much more).
