Why is half of my code working and half not? STM32

Hi I am trying to read adc data from stm32f103c8t6 bluepill and I am giving 3.3v to the A1 from arduino uno as you can see from the picture below. When the adc data is more than 2000 the LED that's connected to A0 pin is supposed to light up and if it is lower from the 2000 then it should light off but when it starts once to be lighted up, it coutinues to light up until I restart the code. And the onboard led C13 should light up when adc data is 0 but it is always lighted up it doesn't matter if adc data is 0 or not. So I will share the code below and I want to listen opinions. For addition I am using vscode and openocd and I am thinking only my codes half works because I experienced before like it work until a certain line and after it do not work. Anyways here is the code;

Solution

  • You have this:

      hadc1.Init.ContinuousConvMode = DISABLE;

    This means that when you enable the ADC, it will make one conversion, and no more. You'll always just read the same value after that, unless you re-start the ADC every time around your loop.

    You should enable continuous conversion mode. Or re-start the ADC every time around the loop. The first option sounds easier, if this is all you are doing.

    Also note that when the input voltage is 0V, you cannot expect the ADC reading to be 0. This is an analogue peripheral, and things like the temperature, reference voltage, and probably others can affect the reading. You should use some kind of threshold, like if the reading is less than 50, that is "off".

    You might have to experiment with your device to find out what that value should be. The ADC in the STM32 also can be calibrated, which you don't seem to be doing. The HAL has a function for that, you should use it.
