How to fix org.gradle.api.tasks.TaskExecutionException: Execution failed for task ':app:kaptGenerateStubsDebugKotlin' in Android Studio Giraffe?

After successful gradle sync in Android Studio Giraffe | 2022.3.1, Getting error like this:

Execution failed for task ':app:kaptGenerateStubsDebugKotlin'.
> 'compileDebugJavaWithJavac' task (current target is 1.8) and 'kaptGenerateStubsDebugKotlin' task (current target is 17) jvm target compatibility should be set to the same Java version.
  Consider using JVM toolchain: https://kotl.in/gradle/jvm/toolchain

I download several jdk from

settings/build tools/gradle

, But not works.
Please help to fix this error.

Solution

  • I solved the issue updating it to JAVA 17:

    compileOptions {
 sourceCompatibility = JavaVersion.VERSION_17
 targetCompatibility = JavaVersion.VERSION_17
}

kotlinOptions {
 jvmTarget = "17"
}

    Also make sure you have Gradle JDK 17:enter image description here
