Instead of typing "<-", [Alt + -] is very useful. However, sometimes you accidentally enter [Alt + 0] just to the left of [-]. Then my codes hide in Left Right Arrow like images.

You may modify shortcuts in RStudio.
Go to Tools -> "Modify Keyboard Shortcuts..."
