Retrieve Your Gmail Emails Using PHP and IMAP

I've tried this code from David Walsh Blog:

But when I tried to run I got this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '&' in /Users/Nathan/Sites/gmail-test/main.php on line 31

Solution

  • You copied the code incorrectly and ended up getting a whole bunch of html entities mixed in with the code. Compare your code with what is in the blog to fix the problem.

    Update (I think I got them all):

        /* output the email header information */
    $output.= '<div class="toggler '.($overview[0]->seen ? 'read' : 'unread').'">';
    $output.= '<span class="subject">'.$overview[0]->subject.'</span> ';
    $output.= '<span class="from">'.$overview[0]->from.'</span>';
    $output.= '<span class="date">on '.$overview[0]->date.'</span>';
    $output.= '</div>';

    /* output the email body */
    $output.= '<div class="body">'.$message.'</div>';
