How to include qwt in a CMake project?

This question provides a (supposedly) working FindQwt.cmake. Is there an official version of the file somewhere? I would hate to just copy-paste the code.

Secondly, here is the content of my debian package. How come it doesn't contain any headers?

$ dpkg -L libqwt-qt5-dev
/.

/usr/lib
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5

Solution

  • Unfortunately there isn't an official FindQwt.cmake, nor does Qwt provide a QwtConfig.cmake. And cmake doesn't support qmake's configuration feature or can read it's mkspecs (.prf) files.

    The script from https://gitlab.kitware.com/cmake/community/-/wikis/contrib/modules/FindQwt looks good though and worked for me:

    # Qt Widgets for Technical Applications
    # available at http://www.http://qwt.sourceforge.net/
    #
    # The module defines the following variables:
    #  Qwt_FOUND - the system has Qwt
    #  QWT_INCLUDE_DIR - where to find qwt_plot.h
    #  QWT_INCLUDE_DIRS - qwt includes
    # QWT_LIBRARY - where to find the Qwt library
    #  QWT_LIBRARIES - aditional libraries
    #  QWT_VERSION_STRING - version (ex. 5.2.1)
    #
    # It also defines this imported target:
    #  Qwt::Qwt

    Edit: WARNING: This can return the wrong Qwt library! If you have both the Qt 4 and Qt 5 version installed it will return the Qt 4 version, even if you use Qt 5. This will result in your application being linked to both Qt 4 and Qt 5, which crashes immediately.
