I can access WebUtils.retrieveGrailsWebRequest()
on localhost(everything works fine). But if I try to deploy the .war file on the tomcat server I get the following error:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No thread-bound request found: Are you referring to request attributes outside of an actual web request, or processing a request outside of the originally receiving thread? If you are actually operating within a web request and still receive this message, your code is probably running outside of DispatcherServlet/DispatcherPortlet: In this case, use RequestContextListener or RequestContextFilter to expose the current request.

You can access request
and/or session
without referencing any holders or referencing WebUtils
.
// grails-app/services/lastone/DemoService.groovy
package lastone
import grails.web.api.ServletAttributes
class DemoService implements ServletAttributes {
def someMethod() {
// From here you can access the
// session and/or request properties
// directly...
}
}
