When i select a pdf from Google Drive and click share via 'send a copy' app crashes.
I'm trying to create a file from the intent data received. Uri received is content://com.google.android.apps.docs.storage.legacy/enc%3DwZUW7yjtovmYjBMzKXQVChubXRmP0Qum361CVLRoUegdADMl%0A.
When i tried to create file from this uri it returns null.
Is there any way to share files from android(like image, mp3, video, pdf etc). Create file works for dropbox, gallery etc.
File file = FileHelper.getFile(this, mUri);

Step #1: Delete all the code that you have there
Step #2: Use a ContentResolver
and openInputStream()
to get an InputStream
on the content identified by the Uri
Step #3: Create a FileOutputStream
on a file that you can control (e.g., in getFilesDir()
or getCacheDir()
)
Step #4: Copy the content from the InputStream
to the FileOutputStream
IOW, you treat a Uri
much like you would a URL to a Web site, downloading the content to your own file, then using your own file.
