In my application has a multilingual database. It is necessary to load the lists from the database of the language which is set in the user program. I use Dbling library and now 3 days scratching their heads, how to dynamically take the data from a database, building a linq request. The following table identifies the following columns:
id | name_en | name_ru
Assume that the default language is Russian. Then when initializing the application, you need to take all the information in Russian
DbMetal utility created my class:
//
// ____ _ __ __ _ _
// | _ \| |__ | \/ | ___| |_ __ _| |
// | | | | '_ \| |\/| |/ _ \ __/ _` | |
// | |_| | |_) | | | | __/ || (_| | |
// |____/|_.__/|_| |_|\___|\__\__,_|_|
//

System.ComponentModel.PropertyChangedEventHandler h = this.PropertyChanged;
if ((h != null))
{

}
}
Also, I created a POCO class, which will store the data:
public class ListRegistered
{
private int _id;
private string _name;
public ListRegistered()
{
}
public int ID
{
get { return this._id; }
set { this._id = value; }
}
public string Name
{
get { return this._name; }
set { this._name = value; }
}
}
Now I make request:
public class PersonInformationModel
{
private static string language = "ru" // We assume that this is the current language;
public List<MMS.Model.POCO.ListRegistered> GetRegisteredList()
{
Main dbContext = new Main(DatabaseConnect.GetConnectionContext(), new SqliteVendor());
var q = (from o in dbContext.ListRegistered select new MMS.Model.POCO.ListRegistered() {
Name = // <------- How do I get here to dynamically o.NameRu or o.NameEn???
});
}
}
It would be easy to do in LINQ only if you had a table for translation instead of 1 column per language (which is very unscalable and will come back to hurt you later on).
In your situation the best you can do is add a property for name in your Poco with a getter that does that logic (that is that returns the correct column in a switch based on the language you want). No way to magically select a "column"
