SOAP. Code ignores the disconnecting client ( java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe )


Client uses my SOAP service to perform some operation. When he disconnected, exception: ClientAbortException: java.net.SocketException: Broken pipe thrown. But called code ignores the disconnecting client and continues running, and only fails after it tries to return. Is it possible to catch this exception or configure JAX-WS to stop running?

Solution

  • Each call is handled by 1 thread, so you have a least 2 threads and exception is not send to the other thread, at the end they use the same socket so first call will know that the socket is broken when it'll try to send data. I think that you can check socket state at some step in your process end stop your process manually when the socket is broken.
