How to get printer category(type)?

Question

I'm trying to get printer category such as "Fax", or "Printer" which I can see in printer property window.

All I found is that I can get it from DRIVER_INFO_8,

So I'm a bit confused - how can I get printer type?

To get the PRINTER_DRIVER_CATEGORY_FAX flag, you need at least windows 8 or windows server 2012 (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd162507(v=vs.85).aspx).

Try to use EnumPrinters with PRINTER_INFO_2 instead. You can then test for PRINTER_ATTRIBUTE_FAX
