I have following variable in my XSL file:
<xsl:variable name="mFileName" select="'MsgMap.xml'"/>
Essentially mapping of msg ID with text for that msg.
I am calling my transform using fop.bat
fop.bat -xml in.xml -xsl xsl.xsl -pdf out.pdf
So is it possible from commandline to pass this variable to the transformation so I can set message file name from the command line?

Specifically:
-param name value <value> to use for parameter <name> in xslt stylesheet (repeat -param name value' for each parameter)
Also, change:
<xsl:variable name="mFileName" select="'MsgMap.xml'"/>
To:
<xsl:param name="mFileName" select="'MsgMap.xml'"/>
So your command line will look something like this:
fop.bat -xml in.xml -xsl xsl.xsl -pdf out.pdf -param mFileName "yourfile.xml"
