How can I disable html tag completion in PHPStorm

When I'm in HTML/Other context and type foobar and hit Tab it automatically turns into <foobar></foobar>. Is there any option to turn this kind of auto complete off?

Solution

  • Settings/Preferences | Emmet | XML | Enable XML Emmet -- disable this option.

    EDIT 2024-06-08:
    That option got moved after the Settings were restructured a few years ago. Now it's Settings/Preferences | Editor | Emmet | HTML | Enable XML/HTML Emmet
