python django psycopg2 osx-mountain-lion

OS X Mountain Lion with Psycopg2 (Symbol not found: _PyMemoryView_Type)

I've been stuck on this problem for the past few days, which is preventing me from getting my local environment set up properly. Here's my setup:

Using OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
Via homebrew I have Python and PostgreSQL installed.
In a Virtualenv, I have Django installed with psycopg2 2.4.5 via PIP
I've verified that I can connect to my PostgreSQL database via pgAdmin3

However, whenever I spin up my Apache server and navigate to my local URL, I'm greeted with this ugly error:

dlopen({....}/lib/python2.7/site-packages/psycopg2/_psycopg.so, 2): 
Symbol not found: _PyMemoryView_Type

Solution

After a day of dancing around with files and settings, I finally figured it out. Largely thanks to @BigHandsome for steering me in the right direction. In my Apache httpd.conf file, I was using the mod_wsgi.so that came with OS X 10.8. Apparently this was the problem. I fixed it by doing the following:

Used Homebrew to install a new version of mod_wsgi.so (brew install mod_wsgi)
At first, Homebrew threw me an error related to Mountain Lion and mod_wsgi. I followed the symlink directions on this reported issue: https://github.com/mxcl/homebrew/issues/13919
After symlinking the files detailed in the link, I redid brew install mod_wsgi and it worked.
I updated my httpd.conf with: LoadModule wsgi_module /usr/local/Cellar/mod_wsgi/3.3/libexec/mod_wsgi.so
I restarted Apache2 (apachectl restart) and voila!
